Were her parents fair?

i was invited to my girlfriends house to meet her parents for the first time. When I got there i was really surprised to see that oin their living room they had the EXACT same paintint that my grandmother has. So in my surprise i said "holy motherf***er my grandma has that same damned painting" they were offended and threw me out! I only said it coz i was so surprised, who hasent had a surprised exclamation? So were her parents fair ior two harsh?

ummm to harsh!!

They were fair. Respect and shivalry are always required when meeting new people and even being out in public. Don't talk to your boss, gf's parents, customers, etc like you do with you friends. I am guessing your still in high school. (dont take that negatively) You still need to develop some social skills of how to act with other people.
And this isn't over! I would call them up, or go over there with flowers and apologize about the situation. This will show that you have class, respect and the ability to handle your problems. They may not run to you with open arms just yet but they will get over it. It may even turn into a family joke someday! :P

No, you were obscene and it was your first time being there! You should be ashamed of yourself. Her parents had every write to ask you to leave and if she were my child, I would not let you come back over, ever. I'd probably discourage my child from hanging around you, depending on her age. It's simply inappropriate for you to be that rude. I'm shocked that you are not just mortified that you did that to someone you consider your friend. You should apologize to her and her parents.

Why would you curse? You're meeting them for the first time - they want a nice boy for their daughter....nice boys don't curse in front of parents.

Would you have expected your parents and grandparents to not say anything if you made that comment in front of them? No, exactly - why? Respect for them.

You disrespected her parents and they acted accordingly....so no they didn't overreact - they have a duty to protect their daughter and in their eyes that's what they're doing....

If you did that with my daughter I'd probably not throw you out as it's embarassing to my daughter....but I would call you out on it and I would be very wary of you.....especially if you're as young as you sound.

As someone who really hates hearing the f-bomb in any form; yes, I would say they were well within their rights.

As for you - if you respect this girl and want to see her again, you'd better learn to think before you open your mouth.

Or learn from this - do you think that your current or future employers will look with favor on your language?? The way you talk can win or lose you a job or a girlfriend.

Probably not the best expression to come out with on meeting the parents. Watching your language is almost always a good idea, because while some people may be okay with it, some people definitely aren't. I probably would not have thrown you out, but I would not have liked that kind of language either.

it was a little extremem of them to throw you out but at the same time you should have been on your best behavior if you were meeting her parents for the first time. Maybe try to go over their and apoligize to them and explain that you normally don't swear but you were in shock?

Well, that language is probably not acceptable in their house, especially since you were meeting them for the first time...its their house, their rules. You could have said a different exclamation, without the cursing.

I think that thats no reason to swear, especially the first time you meet them. First impressions are huge and it looks like you failed pretty badly.

It just amazes me that people think that kind of language is even close to acceptable.

Just goes to show how far we have fallen as a society.

Fair..sorry but you should keep the F words inside your head.. I dated a guy that was always usuing it..he didn't even realize until I told him..so clean it up and respect those around you..But it was amazing about the picture.

Yeah that wasn't the best thing you could of ever done, first impressions are alot.

Who gives a crap, whenever something goes bad I always refer to the saying

"No matter what bad happens, there can always be worse"

:P

Wow way to set a first impression!! yes they where fair, you only get one shot to make a first impression and you clearly blew it, sorry but i would have kicked you out as well

You were ridiculous to drop the f-bomb in front of her parents. Control yourself.

Way fair man, I can understand where your coming from...but dude, it was your first time in the house and meeting the, theres a certain line of respect and language in other peoples houses..

if my boyfriend said that infront of my parents they would probably throw him out too. just watch your mouth in front of them..its just common courtesy. parents dont like that kind of thing.. yours might obviousley hers dont :)

cursing is not very cute for a first impression..especially since you are meeting your girls parents for the first time. You should of waited awhile and find out what kind of people her parents are.

i think they were fair.

well i dont see why they didnt to tell you the truth

NO U WER WRONG IN SAYING SO.

yeah they were you have to understand that its thier house and they dont accept that kind of language.
and they probably thought you were gonna be like that all night long

you shoudl never go to your gfs house and let the first words our of your mouth be holy mother f******.
it's rude...
