Convincing parents?

My little nephew was born just like 4days ago. and me, my boyfriend and my family are going down to see him. there's a problem though. I AM SICK!. I have a really bad sore throat and I don't want to get the new baby sick. ya know? so as an emergancy I tried to tell my dad that if I still am really sick when we are about to see the baby that my boyfriend should stay in the hotel with me ((my family and him are staying in the same hotel room no worries)) because it would just be awkard for him if he had to be dragged along to meet my brother, his in-laws, his wife and my nephew without me there. ya know what I mean? and my dad thinks we are going to only do sex ((Which we haven't and the thing is i'm on my freakin period. and I think having sex while your on your period is the most disgusting thing you can do.)) I understand his point of view. but...still...it'll just be awkward to my boyfriend ya know?

((it's a mini vacation. it's not like they live five minutes away. it's a 18hour car drive. so yeah we are all staying at a hotel))

If you're not comfortable telling your dad those things about being on your period, etc...then talk to your mom about it. She'll understand, and maybe you can get her on your side to convince your father.
