Please analyze this strange dream I had.?

A half goat, half man, (like from Shakespeare) was measuring me. By the measurements he took, he could tell what kind of person I was and what I was thinking. He told me I was a very moody person, shifting my moods all the time and I could be very selfish. He was nice about it and was telling me not to worry, because every one could be selfish. Then my husband (in real life) came in the room and got mad about this.
Then my husband (in real life) and I got married (but it felt like the first time getting married). He then surprised me by carrying me outside where their was beautiful plants and it looked like a castle. Their was a symphony dressed in white playing my favorite song, it was so sweet. We then got into a bronco with my husbands dad and some others, that I didn't know, but I felt like they were family. ( I felt it was very odd since I haven't really met my husbands dad, he died when my husband was 17).

So we were on our way, when my husband turned into a mouse, I wasn't frightened by this, it seemed normal. I thought he was mad since he crawled on the floor to sleep, I felt like he usually slept in my pocket.

We then stopped in this town where their was a cement factory that made cement columns. The people of the town made houses out of these columns and weird sculptures. This town was very dry with sand, large rocks and it was just boring. ( This is the second time I have dreamed about this town)

We then ended up at a hospital or hotel, I am not sure exactly what it was. I saw people that I went to high school with, but they weren't people that I was friends with, they had kids and I didn't. I am not sure why I was their.

Then I woke up.

Of course, a dream is a very personal thing and you have a very particular connection to the meanings of each symbol. I see a sort of system of symbols and can pull out a meaning from it but only you can decide if it is correct.

It seems to me that the dream is about an aspect of your character, the part of you that is selfish--maybe even narcissistic--particularly as it comes up between you and your husband. The half-goat half-man (which is normally a very sexual creature, but might represent pure animalistic drives--and when you listen to your animalistic drives alone, you are acting in a selfish manner) tells you you are at times very selfish but forgives you it and normalizes it. Your husband, however, is angry that this has been forgiven and normalized. He may have other feelings about it.

The marriage sequence reminds me of a bride's narcissitic dream--the beautiful plants, the castle, the husband carrying you--all like being a princess in a fairy tale. But the dream wedding doesn't involve your husband much. In fact, the symphony plays your favorite song, not his own. Or not a song that represents the two of you.

I feel this connects to your husband being a mouse and normally sleeping in your pocket but electing, because he is angry, to sleep on the floor. There is the sense of him being wrapped around your finger (or "in your pocket" at least), reduced to the status of a mouse in the relationship. His angry response to your tendency towards selfishness is to sleep outside of your pocket. It is a somewhat impotent gesture, but it is the refusal to play into the particularly dominating relationship you have set up for him. But he still remains a mouse. His anger does not seem to be very potent or fruitful--it does not prevail upon you to see this aspect of yourself or of the relationship dynamic.

Now, I don't mean to say that I think you are selfish or narcissistic in any absolute way, just that there is a side of you that is. The half-goat man is right to normalize it. But it does appear that this selfishness (which appears to convey itself through--probably not your moodiness, but your forcing others to orient to your mood--as in, your mood takes presidence in a situation, at least with your husband) makes an appearance in your marriage and is causing some strife or tension. I'd be interested what your husband thinks of the dream (though the mouse sequence might hurt him).
