Limited or no connectivity problem?

i have limited or no connectivity problem when i change my LAN connection
when i connect internet to my laptop at my desk it works fine, but when i try to connect internet to my (same)laptop in meeting room it shows me limited or no connectivity error.
there is a computer at our meeting room which is connected to internet but its network is manually configured, i don't know much about network , is there any software out there which can transfer other computers network configuration to my laptop
please help

First run the Windows XP Connectivity Fix (Last one) and follow the directions exactly, then restart and run Winsockxpfix. After it restarts run Hijack This. After you scan and delete the bad files run it again to see which ones come right back. Then Run Adaware SE full system Scan. Now restart in Safemode and run both again twice. Now restart normal and run both one more time and restart one last time. If you still cant get on run either winsockfix or SP2 Connect fix again. I know that both of these programs fix the registry but I needed to run both of them in order for my computer to run. Maybe you dont need both but it doesnt hurt. Some signs that this problem will occur soon is some mouse functions going bad and lack of ability to open files. I dont know how these problems are in connection with this connectivity issue but these symptoms occurred on both computers before this connectivity issue. Let me know how it goes. It is a real pain.

Microsoft have realed a hotfix that will cure this problem of "limited or no connectivity". Search for "limited or no connectivity fix" in Google and you should be able to find the download.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by copying the network settings from your meeting room laptop, but each device connected to a network has to have unique settings or they conflict with each other.

There is not a software but check the Control panel and then
click on 'Network and Connenctions' icon, and then configure it.
