13-year-old desperate to lose weight! How could this be done over the summer?


I'm George, everyone. Thanks for viewing my question. As mentioned, I'm 13 years old. Also, I'm 5'4'' and I weigh around 140 pounds. I am looking to lose some weight over the summer due to my low self-esteem.

I appear slender or average when in clothing, but I have body fat. Though I don't have too much body fat to the point where I'm obese, I still have layers and a small, wobbly stomach. Apparently, I hate my body image. Just because of my body image, I don't try out for sports, change in front of other people (i.e. locker rooms), or ask girls/guys out (yeah, I'm bi). I REALLY want to try out for sports, not be embarrassed to change in the locker rooms, and try to meet people without me thinking they would never like me 'cause of my body.

If anyone has advice to get me a high self-esteem and start a healthy lifestyle, that would be much appreciated!

NOTE: The only kind of meat I like is chicken.

Last year i my weight was 335, now its 244.
Plese believe me when i say the quick fix diets only worked for short periods of time. After being tired of losing 3 pounds and then gaining 4, i decided to stop and just change my eating habits. I did 1 hour of cardio and ate different types of salads, fruits and veggies and on the weekend i would cheat (NOT OVER THE LIMIT! JUST TO GET A TASTE. LIKE A SMALL SMALL PIECE OF CAKE) <-- so i wouldnt go crazy. And it worked. Well I would say cut your calories to 1500 to 1600 calories. If you cut the sodas and all the junk food out of you diet you'll be good and you should do any kind of cardio (running , swimming , jump rope etc.) for about 30 to 40 minutes. If you want to get a muscular look you should do sit ups, leg raises, push ups, and chin ups if you have a bar. This should give you nice looking body by next school year.

Knock off the soda pop, and fast food, drink lots of water, eat small amounts at each meal.
Exercise, Run, Run, and Run, and when your tired of Running, Run some more.
Be patient, most people quit because they don't see any huge results in a couple of days.
Try lots of activities, swimming, tennis, etc.
You only get out of it what you put into it.

uummm drink 8 glasses of water each day
exercise for an hour each day
do situps, run 2-3 miles 4-6 times a week
jump rope for an hour (lose over 1000 calories)
leave food your plate. and take small portians (no 2nd's!!!)
decrease screen time. ( computer, tv, ect...)
GO OUTSIDE AND HAVE FUNN!!!
if u have a dog, that him or her. play with them all the time.
