I met him, and the next day I saw him die. Do I go to his funeral?

We just moved into a new place, and our neighbor dropped by for about 5 mins to say, "Hi", and let us know that he had a vicious dog. The next day he collapsed in the parking lot which I saw from my bed room window. He laid in the pouring rain with no heartbeat for 20mins while EMS tried to recitate him. He was pronounced dead soon after. Consider I only met him for a matter of 5 mins...Do I go to the funeral to be nice, or would it be inappropriate?

The thing is, I can't just send flowers to his family, he was 41, retired, never been married, and has no kids, parents are dead...theres no one to send flowers to.

I don't think it would be at all inappropriate for you to go and pay your respects, as long as the funeral or wake is not a private, family only, affair.

I've always felt like funerals are for the living, anyway, and having attended quite a few of my family members' funerals, I know how much it means to see all kinds of people honoring my loved one. So, yes, I think it would be nice if you could go. But as "curious" said, I don't think there is a wrong answer -- so just go with your instincts.

You sound like a very caring person, but you don't have to attend the funeral just to be "nice." However, if he seemed like someone you would have enjoyed knowing and you're disappointed that you'll never have that opportunity, there's nothing wrong with going to pay your respects. Funeral services are announced in the newspaper so people like you can attend if they like. (If no service time and location is listed, then the funeral is private.)

i think you should in respect to him but moving on you should do also even though its quite weird it may be a sign from
God sayin your search for love isnt over alot of times people dont relalize love doesnt come in the mail you dont send off for it and it comes back in a few days you have to be patient and wait around and trust me God will bless you.
