This might sound weird, but I really think I'm in love with a fictional character?

I'm totally obsessed. I print off pictures and hang them all around my room, write poems and letters to him, dream about him, and I can't get him out of my head. I've even somehow persuaded my mum to let us go to Washington this summer, and I just can't...I don't know, I feel like I couldn't live without him. I cry over him because I don't know whether I'll ever meet him, and it's been like this for at least five months. I'd go as far to say that it's seriously affecting my schoolwork as I can't concentrate.

My problem is that a part of me knows I have to sort it out, but I can't tell anyone because I'm too embarrassed, they'd think I was crazy. What should I do? I can't just forget...

i think that it is ok. i'm 14 and some girls at my age are more interested in anime guys than real life guys. for a girl like me who is more interested in real life guys, it's kinda hard for me to understand them. maybe this is just a passing phase and you will out grow it someday and find yourself a real life guy.

I think that it is good that you have dreams and are a bit of a dreamer as well. Perhaps you have a keen sense of hunour and are able to look at things from a different level. I like cartoons as well and other fictional characters. I love the old movie Cat Balou which stars Jane Fonda as the lead villan. I also like the Bionic woman.
