How can I write an add looking for a room mate? This doesn't sound good enough?

what kinds of things do you need to say about your self when you write an ad looking for a room mate, and about what kind of place your looking for ?
I know so far that the
rent range I'm looking for is 500 - 600 dollar range, to share , or have my own room, looking to be as close to West los Angeles as possible because of school.
And that I'd like to meet someone who would also like to go looking for an apartment to rent together instead of moving into an existing place that someone has already has, but either way is fine .

Yikes. I'd simplify that. Like looking for roomate in the West Los Angeles Area. Fellow student preferred. or

UCLA (guessing) student seeks roomate close to school. Please call...... then put in preferences if you have any. That's it. See who calls. Maybe they have a place. Maybe they want a place.

I would say; "Looking for potential room-mate,must like.....,and be willing to share rent in the 500 to 600 dollar range in, or close to Los Angeles, so as to go to school".

I would not put to much in the ad because it costs more to write more. Just put down the basics and use a word to describe yourself. Go to www.dictionary.com and use the thesarous to find a shorter word or a word that seems to fit you better. You could say wild room mate wanted or conservative room mate wanted. It just depends on what your looking for. Then once you find a few interested people, meet them and then take the time to ask some questions that go into more detail so that you can find the best fit.
