Where to live next year in college? |
i'm a very shy, nerdy guy who will be a senior next year, but i dont know whether to live in an apartment with 3 roommates, who are all more like acquaintances than close friends, or in the frat full of engineer and science majors. I'm a loner at this school, since i'm so socially awkward and just transferred here. The acquaintnaces im considering rooming with, i met thru class as they have same major as me (math), but they wont be in any of my classes next yr. im considering living at the fraternity since it will give me an instant social life, which i definitely lack right now, but i dont know if those guys will become close friends will me either, but being with them should certainly help me overcome my shyness/awkwardness. this frat is not your typical frat, as they rarely drink and party. I think the costs are about the same regardless of where i live, but money isnt an issue for me anyway. the biggest factor for me is where i'll end up being happier and live more comfortably It sounds to me like you want a social life. You may be a loner in this school, but that would certainly have to change if you lived at the fraternity house. Living in a fraternity doesn't mean you have to be the social butterfly but living there might push you out of your comfort zone to where you might be more social I have social anxiety and I was wondering stuff like that when I first started college. I have a single occupancy room, which gives me the quiet I need to study with my ADD. I have a social life...It's all about meeting people in class and at dinner and stuff like that. You don't need to live in a fraternity to get friends. I wouldn't room with the "acquaintances" because what if you find out that you don't like them and start having roommate issues? A lot of people make that mistake! It's okay to be socially awkward....Make friends with the weirdos like I do!! XD Besides, the weirdos are almost always more accepting than "normal" people anyways and they're easier to get along with. |

First find the area of the windows. 3 x 4 = 12 ft^2. Multiply this by 2 (there are 2 windows). 12 ft^2 x 2 = 24 ft^2. Now, find the area of the room. 12 x 15 = 180 ft^2. Then, divide 24 ft^2 ...
