Why is it ok to ban guys from a school gym for a couple hours and then not ban girls?

After this stupid harvard thing started a couple girls at my college wanted to do the same thing. I go to a much smaller college and we had a campus wide meeting on it. The girls were like we feel pressured to have to look good infront of guys and we dont get as good of a workout as we think we would if there were no guys there. So they were going to make the hours of 4 to 6 pm women only time in the gym and weight room.

So I walked up to the microphone and I said I wouldnt have a problem with that if they made it then 6 to 8 pm guys only get to use the gym and weight room. I had girls coming up to me and calling me a sexist? I am so confused right now? The one girl was like you dont feel the same pressures that we do! Well Im sorry to tell you this girl but yes I do. When I'm weight lifting I am by far not the best looking or strongest guy in there. And I do feel like I have to impress the girls some way. But then again I think I am pretty mature and I realized

that not everyone has the same body type. And so I learn to forget about it. I think it is completely sexist if they change the weight room hours from 4 to 6 for only girls and not do it for guys for another time. Anyone else agree?

I think it's ridiculous. I also think any feminists and anyone interested in equal rights would totally disagree with the Harvard situation and the situation happening at your school.

You are not a sexist. You go to a co-ed school. They gym should be co-ed as well AT ALL TIMES. What if they started proposing female-only classes and male-only classes at your institution? People would be outraged!

If they want a female-only gym they should join Curves or go to an all-female college.

Yes, I agree. I'm sorry you were called "sexist." I think it's pretty sexist of those girls to think all the guys are obsessed with looking at them, instead of focusing on their work-outs. It is truly sexist to say all men do is check out women all the time.
