I have a BIG DREAM, but why do people tell me I cant achieve it? |
Today I was having a meeting with my cousler and I asked her about what classes I should take to help my chances of the career I want which is to be a neurosurgeon (I have wanted this since 3rd grade) after I told her that she tells me "you have a 3.5 GPA, I dont think you will be able to get admitted into med-school with that kind of GPA, you'd probably end up being a nurse its much easier " I'm a freshman (9nth grade) I have 3 more years to bring up my GPA plus I still have to take my SAT and ACT in 2 years instead of giving me encourgment why does she have to bring me down. The reason why I want to become a neurosurgeon ids because my grandfather was one he really influenced me, when I was in the 3rd grade my mom took me to his office in the hospital while him and my mom were discussing something he got a pager saying he needed to rush to the OR room an 18 year old boy was hot by a drunk driver and had a blood clott caused by the drunk driver, the boy almost died if not my greandfather performed surgery right away his mother was in the hallway literly screaming and crying it was sad and very depressing but after 3 hours of surgery My grandfather and his team saved the boy's life, I will never forget the reaction on that mother's face after that I realized even though I was 9 that this is what I want to do this is my dream It's an interesting phenomenon, isn't it? That is amazing. And I'm shocked any conselour would say something like that especially to someone with a dream like yours. Someone who has a 3.5 GPA and does a lot of extra curricular things like Student council and other clubs and sports has a better chance of getting into med-school than someone who has 4.0 GPA and didn't do anything other than have no life then studying. Make sure you get involved in school! Colleges want to know that you're a real person. Just do the best you can and don't let anyone tell you cant do something! dang lol ur hot....... im a freshman 2 15 yrs old Email me if u wana tk sometime She probably is stuck in a job she doesn't like so she brings down others just because she couldn't accomplish her dream. But she has a point. Get your grades up (even though you have pretty good grades already) and study hard for your tests! You can accomplish anything you want and don't let people tell you otherwise. |
