How To Stop Hating My Roommate's Girlfriend?

We are in a 4 person dorm room, 2 guys to a room, my roommate left so I have my own room.
The other, he brings his gf over at least twice a week and she spends the nights sometime. But her voice is so annoying. Just hearing it makes me cringe. How do I get over my dislike of her voice. When I first met her, I just didn't like her, it was like a dislike at sight. When I see her in the living room sitting when I walk in some time, its like Ahh, she's hear again. I usually just retreat into my room and close the door.

Any tips on how to not dislike her?

I think the reason I dislike her is she's ghetto, I'm black, so i'm no racist or anything. But she just sounds like Ghetto trash to me.

Try to get to know her. She might have an interesting personality. Maybe the two of you actually have interests in common. If you have things in common with your room mate, then you'll probably find similarities with his gf.

You do need tolerance. So force yourself to get over the voice. I have a prof who's voice is like nails on chalkboard to me. I have to see her class Mon.Wed.Fri. first thing in the morning...but I had to get over it. It's not like I could just drop her class. So, as you grow up in life, you will have to become more tolerant.

Next time she's over, ask if your roomate and gf want to split a pizza with you. Maybe you guys can watch a movie. Just get to know her, beyond the annoying voice.

How about making a new rule you can't have overnight guests except for one night a week? That would cut one awful evening. You could also negotiate having quiet time for study during the week, with limited guests at your place. It sounds harsh, but it's a good excuse to keep your place quiet so you can have some peace.
Otherwise, you're stuck listening to her unless you go to the library to study until you go to bed. That's not fair to you!

Without using a muzzle, a ballgag, or duct tape, there is really nothing you can do. One way to stop disliking someone is to get to know them better and find out more about them. If you find you still dislike this person, hang in there. The chances are pretty good that the girlfriend will be replaced or your roomie will leave the next semester.
