Who would you report a drunken Eye Doctor to? We're talking drunk in the office making a fool out of himself.

Itook my kids into our eye doctor's office yesterday to pick up their glasses. When we got there we were asked to wait by his wife/receptionist while they went in a room in the back. After 5-10 min. they came out said just another minute & went into a different back room. Another 5-10 min. and he (the eye Dr.) came out to the waiting room. He asks our names and then proceeds to shake my hand, then my sons, and then my daughters and says nice to meet you. This was our 3rd or 4th trip to his office this month(March). He then had my son go back to a room with him. 15 min. later they come out, my son shaking his head & no glasses. The Dr.is kind of staggering around like he didn't know which way to go. He says Had some trouble at the lab. Want to make sure I give you the right glasses. I'm here all alone and..... He then sits down(his shirt is unbuttoned in several places & his sandaled feet are bruised and bleeding. He leaned forward(smell alcohol) says to my son Help me out here. We left

Start with the state medical board in your state and state board of optometrists. You should be able to locate a web address with a search, and most even let you file via email. Needless to say, I'd not be making a return visit. Even if you get glasses,there's no promise it would be correct.

I'm assuming you're in the US....Each state has it's own Optometry Board that you can report unethical behavior to.
I'd definitely report the incident!

Just find a new eye doctor.

I'm a Registered Nurse, male and so is my wife. I'm not sure what state you are in but call the State Licensing Board. Report this Doctor with his name, where his office is located, what you experienced, try to remember the exact time of your appointment and the time you left. Other people may have already reported him also but your voice needs to be heard. These are your children he is dealing with and any mis-diagnosis
with a prescription could effect your child's eyesight as well as costing you hundreds later on.
