How Do I GeMy Parents to Listen? I WANT to Go to a Boarding School.*EASY Question! WILL pick a Best Answer!*?

Okay, so all my parents do is fight, and yell, they yell at mye for "not doing enough.", even tho I dry and wash all my clothes, make some meals, clean up the house when I can, keep my room clean, etc. So I put Alot of thought into it and I want to go to a boarding school, for many rasons like, getting away from the fighting, it looks great on my college apps, meet new people, I can get used to the "dorm life" early, to prepair myself for college, etc., etc. But whenever I even bring up the word "boarding school" they freak out, how do I convince them? Whatever I do, they don't listen to me! I really do want to go to one, and the two I'm looking at are only a few hours away from were I live. I just can't stand it here anymore, and after my sister gets married in Oct. it will be even hard for me without her (she's moving away).

I would just go to a public school (I'm home-schooled) but they don't think I'll get a good education there, so boarding schol is my last option, and I want to go.

The schools I'm looking at has SO many extracurriculars, that I don't get were I live since I'm home-schooled and we don't have a co-op, plus I want to graduate with the gown and all, etc. and I CAN'T STAND THEM FIGHTIG ANYMORE! But like I siad they won't listen to mwe when I talknig about going to a boarding school.

Oh, and BTW. I talked to my grandparents privately and they said they would pay for it.

Gah, well you should be like this will make me a better person, and you guys can't always be there to hold my hand for every little thing. I need to live my life. And be like if I make a mistake my doing this then I'll learn from it. Life is about learning from your mistakes and that makes you a better person?

Assuming they can afford it , ask them in a calm and mature manner if you can meet with them sometime probably on a weekend when they can give full attention and discuss this. Before the meeting write out the reasons why you think this will be a solution. Write them objectively ( not in a criticizing way of their actions ) In other words write that there doesnt seem to be peace or oder that would be conducive to your studies and you need an environement that will help you be the best you can be-or something like that. And then list what you wrote above about dorm life and how you think it will get you into a great college. Best wishes

you can't convince them if they can't pay for it. you aren't saying what they say when they freak out. but sounds like they have have a lot on the plate, 1 daughter getting married (are they paying for the wedding), 1 daughter wanting boarding school. They probably planned for college tuition (which is not cheap) not boarding school. boarding school is not going to necessarily look better on college apps. Most people that I knew that went to boarding school were no were near as well rounded as a those in public schools.

do you have any relatives you could live with? Grandparent, aunt, uncle. tell your parents the constant yelling is starting to effect you and you wish to stay with one of these relatives, providing they are willing to have you too.
