How can i make the air in my hotel room not so dry?

i am at a hotel and the heat only goes on really hot. the air is so dry and our noses and throats are really taking a toll. is there anything i can do to get some moist air in here? i dont knw if keeping a window open letting freezing air in will meet the warm air and make it a little damper or if i should boil water or something. any advice will help a lot thanks

I travel a lot for work. I have been creating a humidifier by filling the ice bucket with water, wetting a hand towel. I put the ice bucket on the heater, place one end of the towel in the bucket the other fanned out over the vent. I use the fan but I bet it would work with the heat as well. So as the air passes through the wet towel it adds moisture and as the towel dries it draws more water from the bucket. It is amazing when I am in Colorado and other dry areas that the bucket is empty in the morning.

Leave some hot water in the bath tub.

Two ideas, the first one is to get a humidifier and the second is to turn the hot water on in the bathroom and let the steam build up.

fill the tub with hot water and leave it til you need the tub

....let shower run on hot and "steam" the room a bit....... or travel with "little steamer" for clothes...(you have to refill a few times.....they are just about $10........little humidifier......

If there is a small kitchen in the room put some pans filled w/ water on top of the heater and it will add some moisture in the room. you could always ask the front desk to use a pan from the kitchen in the hotel.

Turn on the hot water in the shower and open the door so it will flow through the room. This should help...hope you don't run out of hot water. This is wasteful but it will help you breathe better.

try putting or hanging some wet towels in front of or near { be sure not to start a fire} the heater. as the warm air passes the moist towels they should pick up the moisture, drying the towels, and humidifying the air.

Two choices that work:

1) Fill up the bathtub with hot water

2) Soak some big towels in water and hang them up where ever possible. As the towel dries, it will moisturize the air in the room.

Vaporizer. Small, portable, runs on their electricity, adds moisture and could even have a scent added if desired.
