Am i only passing the time for him till he finds someone else?

6 years ago i met a fella in a chat room & we became quite close;e-mailing,chatting online &texting.I was deeply hurt when a few months later he told me that he had gone on a date & had a girlfriend now. after a few weeks i was told she was pregnant so i distanced myself & that was it till about 10 months ago
i decided to text him & see how life was treating him. turns out his girlfriend had made up she was pregnant and he was single. for the last 10 months we've texted ever day. i did find out that he'd lied about his age and family back when i was talking to him years ago hes told me now that everything he's told me is the truth.
the thing is dough whenever i suggest meeting or even talking on the phone he has an excuse. i live about half an hour away from him & ive seen him twice driving he has a distinctive car. im 21 & he's 27. im crazy about him.
Am i only passing the time for him? is that why he wont meet me? should i stop all contact & move on?
this is wreaking my head!!!

i should also mention that he told me he would prefer if i didnt date any other fella. i dont understand how he doesnt want me with any one else but yet he wont meet me!

...sounds like he's married! Stop! all contact, and dump the
loser, socialize and meet other people, look, listen and talk, then one day you'll meet someone you enjoy being with and
the feeling is mutual...
