Im thirteen, need advice on another poem. Its called "Questioning of Another Broken Heart" Thanks...

Dear father,
where are you.
your not here, you never were.
please help,
please try to understand.
days just get harder as time ticks on.
i need you,
your the hole in my heart, my mother could never fill.
you cheated,
you left,
is it true you never cared?
mother avoids conversation,
of who you were,
why your no longer a part of my life.
i have no address,
no way to contact you.
just a million heartfelt letters,
scattered across my bedroom floor.
i like to think you miss me,
that you think of me,
and regret the pain you put me through.
i like to think you miss my mother,
but now i doubt you miss us at all.
the emptyness in my mothers eyes gives no explanation.
i dont understand.
why did you leave me to wonder?
why did you never come home?
why is my last memory of you the slamming of the front door?
i could run away,
hide from the world,
but i'm trapped in the four walls of my room,
to wonder why you dont love me.
dream of meeting you, somed

I really feel your pain. Perhaps there is a group of other children that have lost a parent that you could share with.

You really have opened up a deep wound. Sometimes poetry heals like that. I encourage you to keep writing. As you vent some of the pain and anger, you may start to see joy and concern begin to emerge. keep writing. It is very therapeutic if we try to go deeper and not just dwell in the outer pain, but also dare to experience the joy and bliss of nature and life all around us.

This is like an open letter to your dad. I really feel your pain. If you want to work with this, you may draft a reply from your dad, trying to explain to you what his point of view was. This will be interesting and helpful to walk a mile in his shoes.

I highly encourage you to keep writing. Read other poets and you will pick up things also. This is a great start. Opening what blocks our emotional center is a great start to allowing the poetry within us to flow.
