"You, Me, and Dupree" vs. "Meet the Parents 1 and 2"?

Isn't Matt Dillon in "You, Me, and Dupree" a guy you could respect more than that "father in law b-whipped" Ben Stiller guy in "Meet the Parents 1 and 2"? At least Dillon stood his ground while Stiller was all like irrartionally going by every little thing the father-in-law wanted, never really stood his ground and was his own person, he was like this guy you would laugh at and not be able to respect, whereas Dillon on the other hand, made his own life and situation happen.

For example, I bet in "You, Me, and Dupree", Matt Dillon was refuse lie detector test because even though he's got nothing to hide, that's beside the point. And if there was a microcam installed in the house or in a room somewhere, Dillon would say how it was uncalled for and that this is personal life.

I'm going for Meet the Parents (Gay Lawd *******)sp

I agree, but Dillion wasn't right for the part of the straight guy. I dig what you say about the role, I just think he was the wrong player. I never bought him in the role.
