Should I inform companies about spam impersonation? |
I got an e-mail pretending to be from the Royal Bank of scotaland today, its quite obviously a phishing attack or somesuch but it did look legit enough to fool an ineperianced user. Definitely report it. Most companies have internal fraud investigators and encourage people to let them know about phishing attempts. From the RBS website: |

Sounds like your classic mail was upgraded. Look for the words "What's New" click there to see the changes, things added and removed. I still have General Preferences under Options.... When you have the email ready, click on forward and click on all the addresses you want it to be forwarded to then hit the send button. ...This is a SCAM. It is just some of the insanity that ensues during a big election. :o) If you don't ignore them you will go nutty. ...It's a scam. If you'd ever been to Longsight you'd spot it!
