Small claims court.?

So, I got a certified letter from my former landlord. They're taking me to small claims court. Here are my fears:

I have this weird phobia about having a warrant out for my arrest that I don't know about. I was arrested once before for a check that had bounced 5 years ago, worth 14 dollars, that I didn't know about, moved and then missed the court date because I had not forwarded my mail. I've had some serious financial problems in the last few years so I'm afraid there might still be something lingering. If i have one, will it surface in small claims court?

It's in another state and I don't have a decently running vehicle. Do I have to physically be there? What happens if I'm not. Since it's not a criminal case, can I get in trouble for not showing?

Any chance I can call the company and settle this without going to court?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just go to court. The judge has no juridiction on anything else.Your fine
