Gmail help!?

I have four different e-mail accounts (different jobs and school) and I would like to set it up so I can receive all the e-mail on one account. So, I set up a gmail account and now everything is forwarded there.

However, I can't figure out how to organized everything. Does g-mail have a file system like yahoo? If so, how can I access it? If not, do you have any suggestions for how I can keep things straight?

Thanks!

instead of "folders" gmail uses labels. think of them as the same thing, but messages can have multiple labels.

The other thing you might find helpful is to setup some filters to assign labels automatically to your specific email addresses. For example click create a filter link. Then in the to box put the email address of one of your email addresses. Then click next step. Then click apply the label and choose a label to apply to all those messages or create a new label to apply to those messages if you don't have one you like.

You can also set up filters to skip the inbox. This doesn't delete them it just archives them. So you can have each email address have it's own label and skip the inbox and then you can just click on the label for the address when you want to see what came in for that address rather than everything going to your inbox and being confusing.

Filters are very powerful and obviously they can be used for more than just sorting your email from your different addresses as they come in. You can also set the filters to look for specific subjects or specific senders(from line). Then you can give those special labels or star them or have them go to the inbox. Play around with them and see what you like and what you don't like.

You can setup the filter to delete specific email as well if you want to, but given the amount of storage you have with gmail I don't see why you would need to.

Yes gmail has facilities to store files and organize documents and so much more.. Go into the info ads on home page and help page everything is explained there. Gmail is a great tool.
