I have received what may be a scam and wanted to know where I can forward the mail so no one gets conned.? |
This is an e mail from an (supposed) attorney named David Wong. He states I have the same last name as his deceased client and will send me more information on the funds. Totally makes all my alarm bells go off. I am concerned that he is scamming people and wondered how to handle the situation. I don't conduct business on the internet and therefore, feel this is fraudulent. Thanks to any one who can assist me. You interpreted it for what it is. I would like to see a web site where we could go to inform the authorities. When my identity was stolen I went to the police and walked out with a copy of the report that I sent to the inevitable parade of merchants where new ACCOUNTS were opened in my name. THAT time I escaped unscathed. But I worry every day about who's out there scamming me. Stay alert as best you can. Maybe another Bill Gates will come along and figure out how we can reverse the sting. You're a good person. You've been away from the internet....this comes through a lot...it's a scam, and the best thing you could do is delete it. Someone will thank you. At least you know you have good karma. Do not reply to that person....just hit delete. You'll get these frequently...always delete them without opening if you can, and certainly without replying. This is indeed an old scam out of Nigeria, but it won't do a lot of good reporting it. Most of them use hacked servers and are gone by the time you get the email. Forward to spam@uce.gov with full headers. |
