I have a mail I need to forward, but to edit first. The mail also has an attachment. How can I delete text?

I'm sorry for asking this question again, and I did not make myself clear. I need to delete part of the text, then forward the mail with the attachment. I have tried to press forward, but when I do no text appears. Perhaps that is because there is an attachment, which came to me from the person who replied to my original mail. I now need to delete my original mail and then forward the mail with the attachment. Is there a way I can edit/delete within this mail before I forward it?
