What should I say to my brother?

My brother is 8 years older than me; him and I have not talked for 2 years, since our father's funeral. Before that, we had talked infrequently, but when I was much younger him and I had been close.

6 years ago I was accused of some things that didn't happen, and since my aunt and uncle were convinced of my guilt, they came up with some outlandish stories to make me seem more guilty in the eyes of the rest of my family. That gave my brother the justification he'd been lacking before as to why he didn't need me in his life anymore - in reality, neither my older sister nor I have any contact with him, because his wife doesn't care for either of us.

My sister ran into him out of town the other day, and he said he had tried to write me a letter, but it was returned (I have moved, but my mail is forwarded). I've sent several emails over the last two years, and his wife gives me rude replies.

I want to reconnect, though. What do I say, and how do I get to him, instead of his wife?

My sister is in the same boat - we have an address, an email address, and a phone number, but his wife always answers and has an excuse for why he can't be reached

screw the wife just keep trying. well just tell him what you wrote here man

have you tried to talk as politely as possible to his wife ? if you have tried and she is still rude, I think the only solution left is for you to visit your brother directly and then talk to him about the misunderstanding. anyway, something got me questioned. have you tried to contact his cellphone?

I don't suppose you know where he works?

Maybe you could try a search for him online, if you know the company he works for, and meet him there? Or try going to his place and wait until he gets home(if he isn't already)and talking to him then?

I don't know what else to say...in-laws get in the way too often.
Good luck.

You have to get round the wife, the best way to do that is to visit him, didn't your sister get his address when she ran into him?
