Why am I getting Unusual actiity message account suspended for 24-48hours for my protection???

I am 64 years old and not very computor savy. I just receive compose, and forward e-mail from friends and family. I am gone a lot of the time and when I get back to the computor and want to do my emails, I am blocked by this message. I have people telling me they were not able to deliver mail to me because of a block. What in the heck? And this is the third attempt to get help from yahoo help. NO response!! How about a more easy access and some actual help. Or are you wishing for me to get off of yahoo mail and go somewhere else? Getting to this question box was like running around a bush...Almost impossible to get here. Please??? any explanation will help.

This is Yahoo's help page on this problem.I just got an error message telling me that Yahoo! Mail detected unusual activity in my account and I can鈥檛 send, save or receive Mail for up to 48 hours. How do I correct the issue?
Here are a few areas to consider: 1. Have you noticed anything unusual that might suggest to you that someone else is using your account? If so, change your password on the Account Info page. You鈥檒l be asked to sign in before proceeding. * In the first section of the page, click Change Password and follow the instructions. 2. Did you send or receive many attachments in a short period of time? If so, try deleting some of the emails you sent or received in a short period of time in your Inbox or Sent folder. 3. Clear your browser鈥檚 cache and cookies.During the suspension, you have access to all email in your Inbox, personal folders and Sent folder, and to your Mail Options. You will not be able to send or receive mail or save any drafts. Email sent to your account will bounce back to the sender.

I can sure understand your dilemma! Trust me when I say Yahoo customer care, does care. They will contact you, but it may take 24 hrs to get the first response. Then when someone does answer, if you still are not satisfied, don't delete any part of the thread. Just keep replying with the same one. That way whoever at customer care reads it, they will have the info right there.
Do you leave the box checked to keep your password active for 2 wks? I did and my first yahoo account was hijacked! Malicious emails were sent out to everyone in my contacts list. I don't leave it active anymore! It took months to finally get my files back. It was through customer care that I did!
Also make sure yahoo has an alternative email address in case something happens that you can't get in to your yahoo account. I didn't, that was one of the things that took so long on mine. I had given up for several months. I just couldn't let the pics of my grand kids go.
So, don't give up and just be patient! You can also go to the help menu on your mail page and click on contact us. a new page will open. You have choices there. You can even search on a particular subject. And whenever you do contact customer care make sure you do it from there and where it says 'need a reply'
I hope this helps.
