Do You really Know How to Forward Email???

From a Network Administrator responsible for all of the computers at a large corporation.
You get viruses/junk mail when email, from the people, before you, get forwarded, the list builds, some one gets a virus, and can send it on.

(1) To forward email, DELETE the other addresses in the message. click the 'Forward' button first then you have editing capabilities

(2) DON鈥橳 use the To: or Cc: if forwarding to more than one, use the BCC , keep email addresses anonymous

(3) Remove any 'FW :' in the subject line. You can re-name the subject if you wish or even fix spelling.
Also get rid of the advertisements at the bottom of your emails!

Yes. We spend so much time reading emails, it would be nice if they were REAL and as personalized as any other written message would be. We don't go around just re addressing or writing new addresses on other information received, it isn't right that it is done with email either. Thanks! I agree. I didn't think about using BCC for forwards, I mean I do sometimes, but I will in general now. It will just LOOK so much neater.

My answer to this is like the others... amen! Too bad people don't follow this though.
I even received an email with the above instructions and unbelievably enough.... it had dozens of addresses it had been forwarded to! Now that is the ultimate in sad but true.
