What should I do? I was the victim of a hoax...?

A trusted relative e-mailed me a hoax thingy and I forwarded it on to my friends 'n relatives. Then someone brought it to my attention that this was a hoax. So I immeadiately e-mailed my friends to apologize for what I'd done. However, my neighbor across the street, had blocked me 'n my e-mail couldn't get thru. It would have been kind of them to share with me the idea that this thing was a hoax, but they didn't do that. Now I feel so foolish and distressed that they'd think I did that deliberately. What is your kind advice?

Besides "Snopes" there are several other HOAX, Frauds, Scams, and Myths websites where you can check on such emails. I NEVER forward an email unless I check it out FIRST, and if I ever RECEIVE a fraudulent email, I will email that person back (giving them the website where it proves it's a fraud) and politely ask them to email those THEY emailed that it was a fraud.

Hope these other websites are as helpful to you as they've been to me.

Have a polite day.

My advice is to check the validity of viruses and rumors before forwarding them on. Also, just because you enjoyed someone's cute little cartoons that tell you just how much they love you and angels are watching over you, doesn't mean that everyone else in your address book will, so don't forward everything willy nilly.

I have a separate email address that I keep just for my "spamily" members. I check it about once a week, and delete most everything I get because it's either a hoax or one of those cutesy emails.

Hon, my advice would be, if this is your neighbor across the street, walk over there and explain, and apologize for the email. I agree blocking your email without even talking to you was awfully rash, but that shouldn't keep you from being the bigger person, and offering your apology.
Just take a deep breath and go ring their doorbell. If she doesn't change her mind....well, at least you tried.
Hope it all turns out well for you.
