hey othniel, your a douch bag,i was sick very ill for a month, so dont talkto me about responsibility, so chalk that up to your wish you were a man pansy mouth, and shut the hell up

You have rented a condo and subjected yourself to the nightmare that is condominium governance! Yes, they CAN INDEED bill you. Most condo legislation requires tenants to take heed of condo rules, bylaws and so on or face the same fines/penalties owners face. Landlord owner should have explained this to you. If your rental agmt makes no mention of it, write a sharp letter to same deducting penalty from next month's rent in the absence of proper notice that strata rules also apply equally to tenants. It was wrong not to alert you but you know the old maxim - 'ignorance is no excuse.' More about the nightmare governance peculiar to condos http://www.bccondos.ca/.

The assessment fees belong to the owner of the real estate unless you had agreed to pay in your lease. Call the homeowner associations number and let them know that the owner has a change of address. Also, check your lease and make sure it's not on a rider.

They don't have anything to do with you. They need to talk to the owner and if the owner get charged because you are not taking care for the property regarding the HOA rules, he will take it from your deposit.

This looks like a tax on irresponsibility and you seem to qualify. Pay the $50 and count it as education and another step toward maturity.
