When forwarding e-mails, what is the "character string" thing?

I can't send any e-mails because I am getting a message to send a "character string". What is this "character string"?

It's a security measure used by Yahoo to combat Spam.
Spam bots are unable to copy the string----but humans can---so if you just copy it into the space provided, Yahoo knows that your account hasn't been hijacked by "bots" and the mail will be sent.
