Halifax scam?

Hey just a warning to anyone who banks or saves with halifax I received an e-mail asking me to re-verify my details. When you click on the link you get a very convincing Halifax page with working links to all of teh Halifax security pages, etc. However I noticed that the address line at the top was wrong it started with Binkley Toys? Who appear to be based in New York USA.

I had a fake credit card charge some years back on my Halifax Credit card so someone has a list of customers somewhere.

Anyway I have forwarded the e-mail on to Halifax security so hopefully they can track it down.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I get these all the time from numerous scams with most high street banks asking me to verify my details....I hope that most people are as smart as you have been and inform their bank..it always amazes me when people provide the info...it never occurs to them that if their own bank does not know their details and needs them to verify them....they are not worth investing in......

well duh, surely you never click in an email from 'your bank' ?!
Sometimes you can tell because the 'link' isnt just the words it is the whole blooming email frame, sometimes the link will show in the status bar at bottom of screen when you hold the mouse over without clicking - but a lot of the time you just gotta remember- the bank isn't going to ask you for this.
