I am worried about losing my folders and NUMEROUS e-mails from sbcglobal when I cancel dial-up in a few days.?

I have a Yahoo! address, and I believe I should be able to retrieve those just fine later in Yahoo!, but I don't want to lose the sbc mail I had merged. Or the stuff in my numerous folders. One tech on the phone said I would be able to, by forwarding it all to a new yahoo address - but another one said no, I'll just lose everything?!?! Has anyone done this and gotten all their old mail transferred?

They can be transferred and you won't loose them. I closed out my sbcglobal account when I moved to Singapore from the US and had to do the same thing. When you login to your email, there will be a little guy next to a heading "GOT ANOTHER EMAIL ACCOUNT? I'LL HELP YOU TRANSFER CONTACTS.
The problem that I have now though is that I can't receive email to my Yahoo account because I think that it is stll tied to the SBC account. When I login, I login using yahoo.com, but looking at my account it shows my email address as sbcglobal.net. I can send, but not receive.

No that impasible, and dont wurry they wont be deleted
