Help!! i need a soloution please.?

a couple of weeks ago an anti virus(spywear) was trying to enter my computer, and i could not access anything. my son finally got rid of it for me, but now each time i gain access to my e.mails(especially if i need to forward something) i keep losing the page, and it is replaced by a blank page. this keeps happening when ever i try to look at something. i am suprised that this page im on now has lasted long enough for me to finish writing this!i have to keep going back to my home page and start again. i am no expert on the computer, so is this problem easily solved, so that with simple instruction, maybe i could do it myself? any idea's please, i would be very grateful. thank you.

Update your anti-virus

reboot hit F8 and load into safe mode then try virus scanning
