Is this guy a jerk or what?

Imagine you were actually a Ranger veteran having claimed nothing of being SF and some jer-off sends you this in your e-mail. How would you react?

"Dear "Aaron":

I have read your "posts" and "questions" in Yahoo Answers (after several of my SF brethren forwarded your B.S. to me for review). I assume you are about 15 years old, but here's the real deal:

FIRST: It is against the law to claim to be a war veteran when you are not.
SECOND: People have been, and still are actively arrested and prosecuted for this violation. In fact, there are specific groups whose mission is to weed out and hunt down fake vets to be arrested. They DO get jail time..." (The letter continues.)

For the recordL I am a veteran. It is not a claim. We are extreamly common.

It is indeed against the law to claim veteran status and having served in a war or credit for military decorations that you have not actually received. That went into affect the past year. As for someone sending you a letter like that you have to remember that some people are very narrow minded and only think in terms of their own personal experiences and exposure to things in the military. I would send them back a reply and tell them you can substantiate any and all things concerning your service if they wish to pursue it and leave it go at that or just ignore them completely.

I think he may be a little confused, he might be like a older SF Vet that does not know that Basic Combat Medics can go through a Special Forces Medic Course, but that does not make them 18D...it just allows them to serve in SF Units to help the 18Ds...the Army did this because the lack of 18Ds and the one's they had becoming PAs...you may want to explain that to him and to answer your question that I read this from...it would make you (depending on your rank, I am going to use E-5) 68W2W1P
