When i try to insert from address book when forwarding mail, my address book will not come up?

I can type in the first few letter and then I get a address list for that "letter", but not a complete address book

After you click on compose or forward and have the message pane showing>>then click directly on the word TO and your mailing list (A-book) opens.
Select the names to send to and THEN click "insert checked contacts---(or with New Mail click OK).
