How do I send an e-mail with undisclosed recipient in the "to" field and the rest in the bcc field? |
Every time I try to forward an e-mail, yahoo tels me that I have to have an address in the "to" field but I see other e-mails that only have undisclosed recipient in the "to" field , and am told that this is done with the "bcc" field but yahoo won't seem to let me do this, Why? Many email programs allow you to leave the TO field blank. Yahoo does not. You can get a compromise as follows. Use this as the TO address: Put your OWN email address in the TO: field. You need to send the email to your own email address and then include the other email address in the bcc line. What you're seeing is the result of a mass mailer. These fill in their TO with the name of a list or mailing code. In your case, there MUST be an address in the TO space. So, if you are determined to send out mass emails using BCC, include your own email in the TO, or place one of your BCC into the TO Spot. (No email listed in the BCC is seen by either the TO emails or the CC emails.) While you can send the email to yourself, and include the other emails in the Bcc field as suggested by others, it will mean that everyone else will get an email addressed to you and not them. |
