Warrant: What should I do?

I recently moved in Nov. to a new town. I had all of my mail forward to my new address. (I closed my account because of the sudden move) I recieved a letter last friday stateing that the DA had hot checks (checks say closed account not InsF) on me and if I didnt pay by the 23rd I will be arrested. I checked on the postmarked date and it said the 15th but the forwarding address said it was mailed on the 23rd. It didnt leave the town until the day it was due, I now live 5 1/2 hours away! I called them the minute I received the letter and paid the check (I am taking responsibilty) but they said that a warrent had just been issued. (The day before) I told them the situation and they did say that this was my problem that I moved and I should have kept better track of my check writing. I agreed. (I am young and make STUPID mistakes) I do have a history of writing bad checks but I have always taken care of them as soon as I knew. NEVER once was late. Help Please.

Look, you sound like a nice kid that needs book-keeping lessons, so take care of this. Call the clerk of court and explain the situation to her and ask her how you go about appearing in court to both cancel the warrant and get the case dismissed because the check was paid. She'll tell you the procedure and you can go from there.

If you can pay off the checks, then go back to the district attorney and show them you paid them off, the warrant will be dropped. Been there - done that.
