I want to change my sprint phone number and save my voice mail messages,They said it won't work, will lose it

I want to change my sprint phone number and save voice mail messages. They said they go with the old phone number and will be lost forever.I know someone who changed her number with sprint as a fact, and messages transfered. I know I can forward to another phone and transfer them back but I want them to directly transfer to my new number when I change it. How can someone else do that and how did it happen? Sprint said it is impossible but she changed her number twice and they transferred. She doesnt know either.Please solve this mystery for us. Thanks so much.

Donna when a number changes there is no way to save the voice mails and they will NOT follow the other number.
The other person is lying .. the messages are tied with the network and when that number is disconnected they will be erased permanently

to be honest it is not suppose to transfer the voicemails over..but i have had calls and even changed my number and i was able to get the voicemails.not sure how it is able because the same steps are takin to change the number..yu can try and if it transfers it does if it doesnt then you wont have
