Windows media update solution?

On the last two occasions after running Windows update.
I have lost my Yahoo Mail connections to Forward and Reply.
Screen shows Error 999 ?.
This may only be a coincidence,but has anyone suffered the same problem.
If so what is the solution,THANK YOU.
