Cannot access my address book?

At times, when I want to forward an e-mail my address book will not open. I have to shut down the computer and when I do that I find the address book on the desktop. Please help.

This should help.
>Click on forward first.
>Then click directly on the word TO, and your mailing list opens.
>Check the name(s) you want and THEN click on the "insert checked contacts" tab. {with Beta or New mail, click on "OK"}

The name(s) appear on the address line you designated--{TO--CC or BCC}, and the list closes.
