Be careful out there? |
Have just received an e-mail from Ebay telling me my credit card regiistered with PayPal has expired and that I would`nt be able to make future purchases etc. until I followed their instructions and installed a new card. They even gave me the last 4 digits of my card. I forwarded the e-mail to spoof@paypal.com and sure enough it was a phishing scam. Had I not used my card yesterday, who knows, I may have been tempted to follow their instructions. So in case you get a similar e-mail be ver careful If you install the ebay toolbar it tells you immediately if you are not on a legit Ebay site. wow thanks i think i have this simular email i no not to follow it thought! thanks! Unfortunately there are many wolves in sheep clothing prowling the Internet if the message came from ebay and you forwarded it to paypal it WOULD show up as a spoof message. if the message included your ebay i.d. and your real name it was possibly genuine. Thanks for letting us know.I got one from someone pretending to be Pay Pal also and it was also false. Best not to respond to any e mail asking for personal information. we are not doctors, wait for the results Thank you for this Cheers brother,much appreciated. |
