I am Writing a Novel and Here is the Synopsis, What Do You Reckon?

"The Carbones had vanished; no note, no contact, no phone number or e-mail was left behind to give their well-wishers the slightest inkling of where they had dissappeared to.
Yet, their names are splashed on the front page of every newspaper in the Magical World."
Angela Carbone wakes up everyday to the same, boring orphanage where she has nothing but the leftover ice cream in the fridge to look forward to.
But on her 13th Birthday however, in a whirlwind of moving waxworks and flying letters, she learns that she is a witch and a dark wizard, the same that had butchered the Carbones, is out to get her.
She is moved to a wizarding school for her safety but little does the naiive magical community know about the Vendetta and his plans to kill Angela at all costs.
A Contemporary Fantasy Novel filled with surprising jolts, scares, laughs and tears the Carbone Chronicles is one hell of a ride.
(Aimed at teens 15 and over).

honestly it has been done befor maybe you should put a different twist on it to make it seem less plagarized

Sounds good, but a little too familiar. Sounds like Harry Potter or PEEPS. Try and be a little more original.

uhh did you jusy turn Harry Potter into a girl?

it sounds very very very much like harry potter. Anyone would realise that. It won't get published. Anyway what's the title?

What I think is no. As you can see, even the kids here recognized it as just another Harry Potter knock off. And as for the 15 and over part, no on that part, too. I have found kids 15 and over are a bit more sophisticated than that. You have what I call a bad case of JKRowlingitis. You need to find an original idea. Forget the flying letters and the wizard schools. It's just the sign of another amateur knock off. Learn to develop your own ideas.

Quite honestly - if you were in one of my writing classes, I would tell you to put the idea of the novel completely out of your mind and teach you to master the short story. But before you even did that, you would learn skills like plot development, story crafting and character development. I would put a marble notebook in your hands and have you fill it with thoughts, ideas, observations, descriptions of people and places, doodles and drawings, clippings from papers and magazines. Anything that caught your attention.

Then after you read a couple of decent classic novels, I would have you go back to that notebook and start extracting some interesting ideas for short stories after doing the background work in character and plot studies. Eventually, one of those stories would lend itself to a longer work. Maybe a novella, maybe a novel. Impossible to say.

But for right now, what I see is that you aren't ready for a novel. You just haven't lived enough and you lack the maturity to write about life. That isn't a bad thing - just an honest one.

Believe me, most successful authors have a couple of first attempts tucked away where nobody will ever see them. You cut your teeth on them. I learned to crawl before I could walk. And I didn't drive the Indy 500 the day I got my license. The day I got my piano, I couldn't play the Minute Waltz. You have to study and learn to hone your skills. And writing a JK Rowling knockoff novel is not the way to do that.

First of all, no publisher would touch this. Hell, JK even sued an Indian reservation who created their version of Hogwarts as an attraction for a fund raiser. She would sue your pants off. That is how she is. She is fine with fan fiction but do not try to publish anything like her work. She has more money than God and plenty of lawyers sitting around with nothing to do.

Put this aside and start actually learning how to write. I highly recommend reading Stephen King's masterwork On Writing. I also recommend reading a novel called The Novelist by Angela Hunt. In it, a famous novelist is teaching a college class. During the story, she writes a book for the class. She also goes through her writing steps in great detail. So it's a good novel and a great tutorial. I have all my students read it. You will learn a lot.

Then find yourself a mentor. Tell a favorite teacher you want to write and ask them to read some of your short stories. Ask them to be honest with you. Then learn to go where life leads you, but do not do it blindly. Do it with the skills and knowledge to be successful when you get there. Pax-C

Sorry to say, but I agree with everyone else here. Sounds to familiar and needs to be rethought. You wouldn't want people to accuse you of trying to rewrite the HP series.
