How many languages can you cope with at the same time?

I was about to take delivery of a new 3-piece suite. My step-son had asked a friend to help him take the old suite into my conference room. They speak Turkish and Kurdish together and German with me. The delivery men arrived and they spoke French, then a Sudanese friend turned up. He speaks German, but we always speak English together. The delivery men were totally confused. The phone rang and it was someone who only spoke Spanish. The Sudanese said, 'It's like the United Nations here.'

i have a group of friends speaking the same language in different dialects and sometimes it is a bit confusing.....
this group has :
Me and my sister-in-law.......Lebanese+
Our uncle's wife..................Syrian
the friends: 2 Iraqis
1 Iranian
1 Palestinian
1Jordanian
1Saudi
and 1 Egyptian
(and we are from 4 different religions)we get along extremely well........and have tonnes of fun together...
so how can can you handle all this languages....no idea

I know 3 languages and I can cope with all. But here in my country there r 64 dialects. So in a odd place like Tamilnadu, I look for a man can speak English. Jokingly I told a friend, English people did one thing to India. That surprised him. 'What good colonial masters can do?' he retorted angrily. I said they united India by teaching them English. English is not a foreign in this country but the national language Hindi is. Isn't it funny ?

3 and recently we had my brother and his wife here, so the situation:
i spoke Russian (my mother tongue) to my brother as he doesn't understand English, together with his wife and my friend we spoke English, if i needed to tell something between me and my friend we spoke Dutch.
