Dilemma! Should I be distant?

My boss cares too much of my feelings, i think we like each other somehow, but in a friendly way only, unspoken and indirect, and nobody knows. We don't have any personal interactions except work, her expectation on me becomes too high, most of the time the standard is way beyonds all my co-workers, but this has cause many conflict betwwen me and her, cuase she gets angry with me easily.

Lately during the annual evaluation period in a regular meeting, she starts talking about her personal feelings does not affect her judgement. I know she wants to be fair and remain independent, but I feel upset because I am always distant, and never try to affect anything. What she says is complete unneccesary, later on, she found I'm upset, even I hide well in front of everyone. She closed herself into a conference room looking outside for miniutes....

I'm in dilemma, cause if I remain more distant, it looks I am unhappy, if I get close, it looks I am asking something from her, what to do????

Start looking for another job. On the downlow. Bosses who are into that vicarious living are strange and not to be trusted.
