Im complaining to my teacher... how does this sound?

okay so this teacher i have in american history is a real prick. even my parents think so but neither of them have the time to conference with them. so i was checking my grades and noticed i already hav a C in his class. i cant seem to remember any of the assignments. hes notorious for losing my assignments and failing me for it. hes the reason for my first c ever. i dont wanna insult him or anything but i wanna bring up the fact that i hate what he does to us. and it seems like he especially picks on me and like a couple other students. i sorta want to sound intelligent for an 8th grader at the same time though lol so how does this sound?
Okay not enough room so wait for the details =]

If I turn in my packet and reading reflection, will it be counted late like the assignments you couldnt find last grading period? Im pretty sure its the constant 'misplacement' that is hurting my grade. I dont mean to complain but my parents see me do the work that Im required to do and then they wonder why I fail your class. Youre pretty much the only teacher I have a problem with and in turn, youre the one that gives the most homework, tests, quizzes, and the harshest grading on projects.

It probably won't help your case. Make sure that you keep a copy of every assignment you pass in, dated and signed by your parents.

funny

I think it was clever. And with that clever mind of yours noone can fail you.

You probably don't need so much unless you're writing it out to give to her. Try not to say anything too mean because that could cause him to dislike you more.

wow I didn't have american history in grade 8...geez the times have changed lol that was only like 3 years ago
Anyways, yeah that sounded pretty "smart for an 8th grader" although if I had said that in my school I would have been suspended for a week no doubts (my principal was insanely harsh with punishment) but I think you should stand up for yourself and tell him to his face that he's being a douchebag by misplacing your stuff and if you get in trouble and need to go to the office I suggest telling the principal the situation and if you still get in trouble, make sure your parents are aware of how your education is being mistreated and how he purposely failed you and is treating you wrongly...
That sounded so mature of me...

good luck

I think that the last part, the "You're the only teacher I have a problem with..." and so on, will only exacerbate the problem, and I really think that if your parents do see you do your homework for this teacher, one of them needs to make time to conference with him. It's one thing for a student to complain, and another for the parent to take time out of his or her busy schedule to conference with a teacher and plead his or her child's case. I think that will do you the most good.

Why can't either of your parents make the time to see this teacher or, failing that, one of them write to him. This would carry more weight. Is there any way you could make copies of your assignments before you hand them in to him so that when he "misplaces" them you have a copy ready?

First , you ask teacher politely to help you with an accomodation. You bring a 3 ring binder ,write or put assignment when given...in it,and keep it there! Take home finish, hand it in binder and all to be checked and returned and keep all you do for that class in it in order. I will bet it will be noticed checked first and recorded properly. Teacher will respect you for efforts to be organized and responsible. You will have all material to review and when asked in class you will know!!!If he picks you he is checking for info to learn what you know he may not get from your homework completion. Stop and chat often to make sure you both know what is expected from each other.

Hi. I totally understand your plight. I had a similar problem with a high school teacher years ago. You note sounds pretty good but the last part where you mention that he's the only teacher that has given you a "C" and that he misplaces your assignments --well that may piss him off (to put it mildly).

I went to private school so my parents didn't have a choice but to be involved. I understand that your parents do not have the time to have a conference with your teachers --- However, what if they wrote the letter? I'd get them to write the letter inquiriing why an assignment you completed in front of them mysteriously disappeared. They can stress that you are a diligent student who has a track record of good grades, etc. Let your parents do the praising/blaming -- it will have more power. Give your parents the draft you wrote and have them write it from your perspective. Going forth -- I recommend that you type and/or photocopy all assignments. If you know his email address -- have your parent's send him a copy/email stating that your work has been completed/etc... Also write on your paper --in front of him "submitted on_____" .. You can also see if somehow when you turn in the work that you get his initials on a "assignment was received". Your parents can make arrangements with him via phone that they'd like to ensure that he is receiving the homework and that they ask that he "acknowledges" the reception of your work. Furthermore, if your class has to pass things in - ask him if you can hand it to him. Lastly, if all else fails speak to your school's guidance counselor or even set up an appt to speak to the principal/or vice principal.

Last year my cousin was in the 3th grade. She worked diligently on an illustrated book report on Charlotte's Web. She kept her work in her desk -- unfortunately "it disappeared". The teacher insisted that she had to re-do the assignment before the next school day. It was a long weekend -- it ruined the entire weekend. It ruined it not only for her but also for the entire family since they couldn't do anything. We all helped her and it came out awesome... BUT there are students who will "steal" your work and sign their name to it -- write your name always in pen -- and carry important assignments with you.

Best of Luck

Imaka gave a good answer. The other answers were also very good. I would talk to your counselor or have you parents make time to meet with the school principal.
I don't think writing him will do you much good.
Apparently, he thinks you have an attitude and no matter what you do, short of having a conference with you parents, he won't change his mind.

i think that the guy is a jerk and that he needs to realize that no matter what his feelings are towards you, he cant always base his judgement/grading on his likingness of you.
i think that you should send him an email, and so should your mom. or have her hand write him a note. i agree that you should photocopy all of your work and should keep it in a seperate folder located in your 3 ring binder.
