Should I be upset about this? and what would you do if you read this?

I wanted to share some BS that this user named 鈥淛osephine鈥?sent me on the Rev. Martin Luther King today. And silly me, I opened a can of worms and she came crawling out of it, because I asked her where did she get her information on a posting she鈥檇 presented to a question I鈥檇 answered. What caught my attention to her individual posting was when she made the statement that 鈥淜ing was killed when he was in the hotel room beating up a white prostitute鈥? I was enraged by her response, so I asked her to give me a link to where she鈥檇 read this information. Because it sounds like something the KKK or Arian Nation would preach at a hate rally in South Carolina. She responded to me with an email titled
鈥? Facts you don鈥檛 know about MLK鈥? Where she proceeded to state the following:

1. His name wasn鈥檛 Martin Luther, it was really Michael Luther. It was decided later in life that he would go with the name Martin Luther because it had a more prominent ring to it.
2. While working on his dissertation for his doctoral degree at Boston University, he plagiarized from another author who鈥檇 done research on the subject he was writing his paper on. An academic committee later found that all most all his work was plagiarized and wanted to have his doctrine revoked, but it was too late because he鈥檇 already passed away. Not to mention (I $hit you not she said this) His famous 鈥淚 have a Dream鈥?speech was NOT HIS OWN. He stole it from a sermon given by Archibald Carey, a black preacher from the 1950鈥檚.
3. King was under FBI surveillance because he had 鈥渢ies鈥?with communist organizations through out the country. He accepted money from them to fund his movements, and in return he appointed some of their leaders to run certain districts of his SCLS (Southern Christian Leadership Conference). But, (get this) a federal judge ruled that the FBI files on his links to communism would remain top-secret until 2027. A Senator Jesse Helms appealed to the Supreme Court in 83 to have the files released, but he was denied due to the Senate creating the Martin Luther King Day a federal holiday.
4. Last but not least, Rev. Ralph Abernathy wrote a book in 1989 in which he discuses Kings obsession with white prostitutes, in which he would often use church donations to have drunken sex parties with hookers that he would beat brutally.

She expressed anger in Monday鈥檚 observance of 鈥淢artin Luther King鈥?Day, as being a day when this country came to a 鈥渟creeching halt鈥?so we could have parades and memorials to honor such a man. A man who she believes doesn鈥檛 deserve such honor. Normally, I ignore crap like this. But I just wanted to share the ignorance that is still be preached and believed here in this country in 2008. So this way, anyone who see鈥檚 this woman can really get an idea of her views and what she holds to be true about a leader in history that stood for the rights of everyone, regardless of race, religion, or sex. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I鈥檓 not trying to lead a smear campaign against her, but I was so outraged after reading her response that I just had to let you guys read it for yourselves and tell me what you think about it. Am I over reacting, or should I be angry?

And yea, I did think about that gramma. But I just had to ask if my friends here if I was being just as crazy as she is for even letting that bother me, or if I'm just crazy all together. The BS was laid on so thick that I all most lost it. Because I can't believe that there are people out there who would be so stuipd as to fall for such lies and stand fully behind it like it's the truth. You would think we've come to far in today's society to still have to deal with people like that.

Nobody is a saint. I admire what he stood for and helped shape a nation in its treatment of minorities, but so did John F Kennedy who also was a womanizer.Yes I have heard the FBI tapped his hotel while he was with white bitches but not that he beat them,not because he was communist ,but the government felt he yielded to much power and was a threat to them.Men love sex so who knows if the FBI put these women up to it.

Sometimes you have to learn to ignore people, I'm serious. She's an *** hole *****, and I wouldn't let her get you worked up. I don't blame you for being angry, but I would encourage you to forget about it and ignore her. There are a lot of crazy people out there, and she's just one of them.

By reprinting this junk with out rebuttals to the accusations your really just helping to spread them. You just have to accept there are some worthless ignorant people out there and try not to be one of them.

I checked out Snoops and this is there take on the email. It sound like the man did have some skeletons in his closet, but none of it takes away from all the great things he did for this country.

Yes you should be angery King was a great man. And a man of peace. But you should forgive her. King would have wanted it that way.

Unless you knew the guy personally, you will never know what is the truth and what isn't.

You realize, don't you, that many people will read your "story" and wonder if it's true. In that way, you are perpetuating the rumors and raising doubts. I don't know if that is your intention but, that is exactly the same tactic used by the ron paul crazies to trick people into reading their stuff. I'm on to them now, and believe me, they are very creative in promoting their cause.
