What is wrong with my PC why I can not enable voice chat at a conference mode?

I cant use voice chat in a conference room

I guess you are using Windows Vista?

If so, you need to download the missing audio compression codecs.

Go to http://www.freecreed.com and look for the link Yahoo Messenger for Vista. Download and Install that codec.

You must check few things.

First if your mic. connected properly. Some Audio cards, even onboard audio, have a MIC. IN in the back different from LINE-IN. You must hook your mic. there.

Second click on CONTROL PANEL/ Sound and audio devices, click on VOICE TAB when window open and under microphone area, see if correct audio card is selected.

then click on volume button, and check the mic. volume, must be over 60% so you can have a good speach voice. Mute box must be UN-CHECKED. If you see a check mark like "v" in the box next to MUTE, click on it to clear it. Then click OK.

Now in previous win dow, in the mic.area, click on test hardware button, or something simillar, and test your mic.

A wizzard will open, to test your mic. FOLLOW on-screen advices. If still have problems, wizzard willgive you some more tips, to resolve them.
