Conference site in Las Vegas? |
I am planning a 200 person conference in Las Vegas for May 2007 (preferably) and looking for a hotel that will accept the federal government per diem rate for rooms-any suggestions? You need to get ahold of the Las Vegas Convention Authority and they will help you make the arrangements... Call the Air Force Base there, I'm sure they could help you. I would call any the the Station Casinos, pretty much more for locals..has more reasonable rates, bowling ally, etc.. Also I do believe I had seen a school team of some sort staying there at one time. Some of the older casinos in Vegas have smaller conference rooms and may discount meeting room if attendees stay at the casino. Check on line for Las Vegas casinos, e-mail the desk for conference room info. Start calling around---stay away from the strip, if you can; try locals places like Stations, who generally have lower rates than the "tourist traps" on the strip. Also, November is typically huge with conventions, so having it in May is a good point for you; but DO NOT procrastinate. Rooms in Vegas still have a tendency to fill up pretty quickly no matter what time of year it is. One last thing: tell the reservationist exactly what you need; most can be very helpful in getting you what you need. |
