hey. i was absent yesterday and this was the homework..i dont understand AT ALL..whoa..need help..bad. please leave step-by-step instruction..thanks..heres the problems::

"on a scale of architectural drawings for an office building, the scale is 1/2 inch=3 feet. find the actual length of each room..."

11. library: 4.1 in
12. copy room: 2.2 in
13. storage: 1.9 in
14. exercise room: 3 3/4 in
15. cafeteria: 8 1/4 in

Multiply every number by 6 to get the answers in feet

Dude, just take each measurement and times it by 6. This will give you how many feet for each measurement.

If you cant multiply 3ft for every 1/2 inch of the room..you should be flunked....duh 7 x 3 = 21 21divided by 1/2 is 10.5 ft for the conference room....
ok you have 7 inches in the drawing right? you take that and mulitply that by 3. ignore the ft and inches. you take the sum of 7x3 and then divide it by 2 to give you the feet. So it is 10.5 ft. that is the real world size of the room, you add the feet at the end. grab a calculator if you need to

Mystie, don't you mean *multiply* by 2?

Since 1/2" = 3 feet, then 2*(1/2") = 2*(3 feet) so....
1" = 6 feet.

Conference room: 7" --> 7*6= 42 feet.
