Normal reaction versus Paranoia?

Joined a new company. The jobs is a good one plus the folks seems fine.

Boss calls me up one day before (joining date) to tell me that the room allocated to me is being occupied by someone else and that I would have to share the room for while till the person leaves.

On first day at work -- they allocate a conference room to me till the other person vacates the room they plan to give me.

I have been told that I would get the room and till then to use the conference room.

I am ok with using the conference room for a few days.

My second day at work will be tomorrow/Monday.

Also my boss is on bed rest for a few weeks due to some medical reason. So his room is empty for a few weeks.

I have been hired at a senior enough position where its assumed that I would get a room.

I really need to have a room 鈥?for my privacy and space.

I believe that I have either paranoid traits or paranoid personality disorder (ppd). So my reactions might be different to yours.

I would like to hear your thoughts about this situation.

Questions

1.How would you feel about the situation?
2.What would you do?

Looking for serious, honest answers only. No funny ones please.

Address it with your boss asap. If you were to have your own room for work--then you should have it--asap. Privacy is everything when you need it on your job. You are not paranoid--just concerned.

I'd feel uncomfortable too. Awkward. Sounds like maybe they're trying to get rid of the person in the office you want. Something is off there.
I would just sit tight and wait it out for a while. Good luck!
(I don't think it's a problem with you)

Being that it was only my second day at the job I wouldn't be too concerned, except that if I really needed privacy to work I might be concerned that my work might suffer, and as a new employee I would not want that to happen.

Also, where is the person who is occupying your office going? Is he/she being transferred or fired? It could be a sticky issue to ask about that. Maybe you could just ask your new boss when you can expect an office of your own, that you feel you will work better once you have settled in your own office. If he/she tells you, then you will know. If he/she does not want to answer, just leave it. At least wait to see when the other person leaves.
