Flip Flop, Tang top?

I declare a protest! I was wearing flip flops to school today, and they put me on lock down! They're open toed shoes, so what. I can respect the rule about belly and chest showing, and no inappropriate messages on clothing, but no flip flops or tang tops! There were millions of teachers and some A+ students wearing flip flops and tang tops, yet I had to stay in a f---ing room with barely any commutation from anyone but the other girls who were caught. I probably wouldn't be so boiled had they gave me something to do. I did get to chat to a few pals. It was a little better than school. They gave us NOTHING. No school work, no books, no paper, nothing. Only girls were sent to the conference room. Guy were wearing flip flops and were caught, but this **** is just sexism, censorship, and age disgrimation. Not all tang tops are reveling! Some girls had shirts that Almost showed the chest. So unfair! I say we protest. I'm sure I'm not the only kid who went through this.

Here's the problem: they make the rules, and you broke them. Yes, they're stupid rules. But you broke them, so you get to deal with the consequences.

If you want to do something about it, have your mom call or write a letter. Kids in public schools have absolutely no say in stuff like that, and complaining will only upset the people who can make your life crap.

Take comfort in knowing that when you get to college, you can wear flip-flops and tank tops and short-shorts and whatever else you may desire, and no one will tell you not to.

To ease your mind: I was an A+ student in high school and I still got reprimanded by a teacher for wearing a very modest halter top. She made me put on my sweatshirt and made a big deal of it in front of the entire class. No one is immune to the system, it just takes its time in getting to everyone.
